How to make your Aviation Medical Exam run smoothly:

    • Drink plenty of water (for urine test)
    • Avoid caffeine and excessive carbohydrates prior to the exam
    • Bring glasses/contacts to examination.
    • Bring containers to store your contacts if you wear them regularly
    • If you have been to the doctor or a specialist for anything other than routine check-ups or general counseling, you should bring documentation to the examination. This may be required for certification.
    • If you have been hospitalied or had surgery in the last 5 years, bring documentation to the examination. This may be required for certification.
    • If you have a history of alcohol or illegal drug use, bring any documentation you have available with you to the examination. This will likely be required for certification
    • If you have any criminal record, bring that documentation with you to the examination. It will likely be required
    • If your medications or medical condition has changed since your last exam, you should bring documentation to your examination.

We do see occasional hiccups along the way. It's not our goal to keep pilots from certification. Rather, it's our goal to help pilots get back in the cockpit safely!
